If I could suggest one class that every incoming college student should take it would be a class such as this one- Race and Discrimination in America. Every single day people are surrounded, and even responsible for discrimination that they are not aware of. This class opened my eyes to what America has been and what it continues to be. A Visit from the President
As a freshman in LAS, we are required to take the LDR 100, or Introduction to Leadership class. On Monday, October 16th, we were lucky enough to have the President of Central Michigan University, Dr. George E. Ross, take some time out of his day to come speak with us during our class. It was an absolutely amazing experience to be able to hear from such a successful man who we can all look up to, as he is a leader of an entire University. Mentor/Mentee Retreat: Mentee Edition
Location: Camp Timbers, West Branch, MI
Date: September 30th- October 1st, 2017
Purpose: This retreat is for all of the Sophomores(Mentors) and Freshman(Mentees) in LAS. All of the 100 mentors and mentees spend the night in the cabins in the middle of the woods for a weekend of fun, bonding, and challenging ourselves and each other with no service and only limited wifi.
